The 'naked' treadmill with 'lean' body. It features simplistic interface, features and running belt, while having a skinny & sturdy frame to support user up to 250 lbs!

PROS

  • 1% VotesInexpensive treadmill
  • 1% Voteslight and portable
  • 1% VotesEasy for storage - Easy to fold it away and put it anywhere you like
  • 1% VotesRubber surface area that you walk on is less stressful on joints - but still can't compare with those premium treadmill with shock absorption
  • 1% VotesWhen calling the support, you are actually talking with REAL people - and they are helpful!
  • 1% VotesYou can RUN on this treadmill - Tested it myself, but you have to have a "VERY FIT" body to withstand the inclines. You are practically running uphill

CONS

  • 1% VotesThe clock is 'off' - you've walked 3 minutes but the clock will tell you've walked 5 minutes
  • 1% VotesIt's like walking uphill because it has a default incline - can't set it around (fixed position)
  • 1% VotesThis treadmill is pretty steep for beginner - inclined at 12.5% uphill
  • 1% VotesSince there is no motor, the belt is kind of "sticky" - but it won't be a problem once you've found your groove
  • 1% VotesI really can't let of of the handle bar, because it's not a motorized version, YOU power the belt and make it spin. If you release all your grip, you'll easily lose your balance

“You Power The Belt” – that is the idea of Phoenix Easy Up treadmill. It’s a manual treadmill without motor, and it’s 100% rely on you. Each step you take will be the power for it to “turn on” and the first step lead to the next, and the belt will keep rolling as long as you don’t stop.

For some people, this type of treadmill is not “cool”. But for those who understand its purpose, it’s the coolest thing ever created!

You see, it’s green, no need for electricity. It’s space saving, as there is no big motor to move the belt. It’s also super lightweight, you can lift it up and roll it anywhere you like. Last but not least, the most important part, it’s much cheaper than any motorized treadmills.

If you have watched the video, you’ll know how nice this “machine” is. Of course, it’s not a machine for running per se. You will need to get a motorized version if running is your fitness goal (check out LifeSpan TR1200i or Horizon T101).

(more update coming soon)

What's In The Box?

phoenix 98510 easy up

The machine is coming with a standard carton box packaging, and it’s pretty light at 51.6 pounds only. I haven’t found any complaint about a beat up box like any other treadmill machine. It’s all thanks to the weight, I’m sure of it. The story will be different with treadmill with shipping weight 200lbs and above.

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

[Click on the questions below to see their corresponding answers.]

Is this manual treadmill quiet?

Nope. It’s not really quiet, because each step you place on the belt will make noises, and the friction of the belt and roller will make noises, too!

However, it’s MUCH BETTER than a motorized treadmill. But, if you really want to know how small the noise is, you need to visit your local store and test it out first (find any manual treadmill).

What is the maximum weight for this treadmill?

It’s 250lbs per manufacturer’s description. But it’s been tested by user with weight at 240lbs (about 108 kgs) and it’s working fine.

Well, it should be working well as long as the frame can hold it.

Do you HAVE to hold on to the side bars when using this treadmill?

For safety purpose, yes!

You need to hold on the bar to keep your balance .Well, just resting your hands on the bars are fine, as long as you don’t let go completely.

Why? Because it’s a manual treadmill, the ‘machine’ will not move by itself and you have to push it on each step you take in order to move the belt.

Most people with go out of balance when applying some strength to push the belt, so it’s better to keep your hands close to the handle bars when walking (except your super confidence with your balance 😉 ).

Can I use this treadmill while gaming, reading book or playing with tablet?

I think it’s not safe to let go of the handles, because manual treadmills have some sort of ‘resistance’ and you’ll need to apply some strength to move it.

In short, this treadmill is not suitable for you if you want to walk while doing other things like reading or playing.

Beside walking, can I run on this treadmill?

Phoenix 98510 Easy Up is not a running machine. You won’t achieve any running possibility like you would on a commercial treadmill in the gym. It’s best for walking or fast walk. You are required to push the belt on each step taken, so it’s hard/impossible for running.

Is this treadmill energy efficient? How much would it cost if use daily?

This is a manual treadmill. Thus, require no electricity at all. All it need to move is YOUR energy. As long as you have energy to walk on it, it will work until you stop.

Green energy, huh? 😉

Sadly, there is no extended warranty option for this treadmill. If you need one, you might need to look for a third party warranty service.
